Indigenous Women must have the Freedom to Choose when Motherhood is Right for Them

Thunder Bay, ON - The Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) is disappointed by the United States Supreme Court overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. Indigenous Women have the right to choose how they access reproductive healthcare. ONWA affirms Indigenous women’s right to safe, supportive, and culturally relevant healthcare that is free of racism, stigma, and discrimination. Now more than ever, Indigenous women’s right to freedom of choice in healthcare is critical and access to healing must be supported.
